EXCO TALKS- GENRAL ASSEMBLY 1

GENERAL ASSEMBLY 1

Hi, delegates hope you have done your research on the topic. We wish to offer you a helping hand in this conference. A basic background on the topic will be given on this blog. We hope all of you will read the background and if you have any questions please feel free to ask away.

BACKGROUND

The Korean crisis is not something that started recently, this issue has been going on for some time. One key area is the 1910 timeline. North Korea is the country that is known to be "closed off from the world". To know who exactly supports and oppose North Korea one must refer to the 1950 timeline.

So why didn't we take North korea serious back then? We never expected them to make nuclear weapons and although certain missiles don't work there is one that can reach the United States of America currently. In other words DPRK was like a guy who brought knives to a gun fight. However now since they have the ability to attack we fear them. Not only the USA but Japan and South Korea as well.

Sanctions and embargoes have been used on North Korea in order to make them unable to fund their nuclear programme however, there has not been a decrease in the rate of their nuclear programme. South Korea has a defence against North Korea with its defence system, military and of course the United States of America

Head Table's Expectations

We hope that all delegates will be passionate in debate, sharp in speaking facts and feasible in providing solutions to the problem. We hope their will be more solutions to this topic more than a blame game. For if we continue to find flaws and argue we will never reach peace in the Korean peninsula. As the United Nations General Assembly 1 stands for Disarmament & International Securtiy you as delegates have the obligation to make the committee efficient. Likewise, we as the head table too, are obliged to moderate the debates in order ensure our assistance in making the committee efficient.

So let us all play our individual roles to the very best of our abilities to ensure a collectively positive result at the end.
Let's make GA1 the most effective committee!

 GA1 VICE PRESIDENT- YASANJEEWA NANAYAKKARA

  4. i believe that negotiation is not an option with Kim Jong Un considering he's not the type to talk about nuclear disarmament in North Korea
